How I added another income stream as a new mum (no it's not a MLM!)

I didn’t come to baby yoga looking for a big business or a packed timetable. I came to it as a mum. A mum of three. I needed work that fitted into real life, not something that asked me to bend my family around it.

I’d already been teaching yoga for years. Evening classes, workshops, retreats. I loved the work, but baby yoga showed me something different. It showed me how powerful this stage of motherhood is, and how sustainable this work can be when it’s structured properly.

This is what teaching baby yoga actually looked like for me.

The simple model that worked....

I taught one day a week. Yes, one day! My baby was 5 months old at the time I started and the grandparents took him till I got home just after lunchtime.

On that day, I ran two baby yoga classes back to back. Each class ran in six week blocks, with about 10-12 mothers/babies in the room.

Block bookings were key. They created consistency for the mums and stability for me. No constant reselling. No weekly uncertainty.

The venue used varied I ended up using 3 different venues.

A dance studio £10 per hour (large but chilly, hard to heat up)

A wellbeing studio £20 per hour (small, wrong aesthetic for me, stairs at entry so not ideal)

A beautiful yoga studio £30 per hour (more spacious, easy to heat up in winter)

Its important to note the variety of prices here for rent. Ill also say here that this is just one set up thats possible. Other payment set ups do exist eg being on a teaching team as a freelancer and being paid a set fee or per head fee from the studio/

The income breakdown

My initial block was £60

When I moved into the £30 per hour studio I increased it to £70

I took 12 bookings for these blocks (not everyone came each week, about 10 was the max due to holidays, illnesses etc)

So lets do the math

£60 x 12 = 720

Minus £10 rent, £660

£80 x 12 = 960

Minus £30 ph rent = £780

I had build up a big community of mums (yes I teach you this too!) and i was soon running 2 timeslots.

So per block at the £80 price point I was bringing in £1920 minus rent of £360. I had £1560 left over. After insurance, booking fees, website hosting, payment processing and basic kit, the majority of that figure was profit. Baby yoga is a low overhead offering once you’re set up.

Running seven fully booked blocks per year around holidays, illness and family life looked like this.

At £60 per baby, annual income could sit at just over £9,000.

At £70 per baby, around £11,000.

That is from 2 CLASSES PER WEEK

ON A SCHEDULE THAT I CHOSE

THAT WORKED WITH MY AVAILABLE CHILDCARE

THAT WORKS AROUND MY LIFE

Did it let me retire early? Far from it. What is did do was make the rising costs of raising a family a little easier to navigate. It gave me a sense of whats possible when you are structured and strategic. Anddddd it paved the way for Nest.

This model worked because it respected the season of life I was in.

I wasn’t teaching every evening.I wasn’t constantly chasing bookings.I wasn’t sacrificing time with my own children.

Block bookings gave security. One teaching day gave balance. The work supported my family rather than competing with it.

Baby yoga isn’t a tick box mum and baby class.

When it’s held well, it supports nervous system regulation for both mother and baby. It builds confidence, connection and trust. It reduces isolation at a time when many women feel incredibly alone.

A supported mother changes the atmosphere of her home. Her baby feels it.

That impact ripples outward.

This is quiet, meaningful work.

In my Baby Yoga Teacher Training, I don’t just teach you how to run a class. I walk you through how to market these sessions, how to build real community around them, and how to create multiple income streams from a baby yoga offering in a way that feels ethical and sustainable.

My baby yoga sequences have been designed alongside an infant focused chiropractor so you can rest assured that the movements are purposeful and create a great opportunity for development

This training is for women who feel drawn to working with mothers and babies and want to do it in a way that is grounded, sustainable and genuinely supportive.

It is for you if you are a mum yourself and want work that fits around family life, not work that asks you to sacrifice it. If you need a teaching model that respects school hours, nap times and the reality of motherhood, this training was created with you in mind.

It is for yoga teachers, movement teachers and bodyworkers who want to expand into the postnatal space with confidence, understanding and care. Especially if you already work with women and want to deepen your impact during early motherhood.

It is for women who feel the importance of community and want to build more than just a weekly class. If you care about creating spaces where mothers feel safe, regulated and seen, this training will support you to do that well.

It is for those who want their work to be financially viable without burnout. If you are tired of undercharging, over-giving or constantly chasing bookings, you will learn how to structure baby yoga in a way that supports you long term.

It is also for women at the beginning of their journey. You do not need to have everything figured out or a polished business plan. You need curiosity, care and a willingness to learn.

This training is not for people looking for a quick certificate or a copy and paste business. It is for those who want to do this work with integrity, depth and intention.

If that resonates, you are exactly who this training was created for.

The training kicks off in March and includes:

  • Three in person workshops

  • Teaching one baby yoga class

Workshop 1 and 2 are practical, learning, observing, practice teaching. The third is a bonus business and marketing workshop where I share:

  • how to turn your passion for teaching into a profitable income stream

  • what you need to get set up and started

  • how to apply to work at studios

  • how to start your own freelance classes

  • how to build a community who need your services

  • how to market your classes

  • how to collaborate with others to grow your business and support your clients,

And if you are interested in how I turned this 2 class a week timetable into a 3 room wellness centre with over 500 mothers walking through the door in the first 6 months then book in some time with me. I'll tell not only how I did it but how I'll share how I could coach you through similar strategies to your business to grow it in a way you never thought possible.
