Baby Yoga Teacher Training

Learn to lead classes that support babies, parents and the connection between them.

Guide Parents & Babies Through Calming, Connected and Developmentally-Supportive Classes

A baby yoga class can be somewhere a parent gets out of the house, meets someone who understands their week and begins to feel more confident with their baby.

The movements matter. So does the person leading the room.

This training brings those things together: learning to teach baby yoga, understanding how to respond to the babies in front of you, and creating a welcoming class where parents feel included, supported and able to be themselves.

With online learning, a practical training day at Nest in Glasgow, class observation and individual assessment, you’ll have opportunities to learn, practise and receive feedback before completing your certification.

Why I created this training

I’ve been teaching yoga since 2011 and working with children and families since 2014. Alongside my work in pre and postnatal yoga, antenatal education and supporting mothers, I’m also a mum of three.

I know how much it can take to get yourself and your baby to a class. Sometimes you arrive feeling good. Sometimes you’ve barely slept, your baby has cried the whole journey and you’re wondering whether you should have stayed at home.

I want the teachers I train to understand that.

At Nest, we’re rebuilding the village every mother deserves. This course is an extension of that work, helping more people bring thoughtful, responsive baby yoga classes into their own communities.

You’ll learn how to teach the routine, but also how to notice what’s happening in the room, support parents without taking over and adapt when the class needs something different from the plan you arrived with.

Who This Training Is For

This course is for people who want to teach baby yoga and host parent and baby classes in their own community.

You might already work with families as a yoga teacher, doula, antenatal educator or baby-class facilitator. You might be exploring a new direction after becoming a parent yourself.

You’ll need a willingness to study, practise, receive feedback and complete the assessment work after our training day. If you’re unsure whether your experience is suitable, please get in touch before booking so we can discuss it.

What you’ll learn

Throughout the course, we’ll explore:

  • Teaching baby yoga: delivering the routine clearly and confidently, helping parents follow along and recognising when to pause or adapt.

  • Understanding babies: foundations of infant development, developmental differences and responding to babies’ cues.

  • Supporting parents: listening, offering reassurance, respecting choice and maintaining professional boundaries.

  • Planning a class: creating a full session with a clear purpose, appropriate pacing and room for feeding, changing, settling and rest.

  • Adapting in the moment: responding when babies are unsettled, asleep or simply interested in something else.

  • Planning a six-week block: building familiarity and variety while responding to the group’s needs.

  • Communicating your offer: writing clear class descriptions so parents understand what to expect.

How the course works

1. Learn online before we meet

You’ll complete approximately six hours of pre-work, including watching the course videos and reading the training manual.

This gives you a foundation before the practical day, so we can spend our time together exploring the teaching, practising and discussing your questions.

2. Join me for a practical day at Nest

Our six-hour in-person training day takes place at Nest in Bridgeton, Glasgow.

You’ll practise teaching, discuss the reasons behind your class choices and receive feedback from me. We’ll explore how to offer assistance, support parents and adjust your plan to what’s happening in the room.

3. Experience classes from the other side

You’ll complete five hours of class observation or attendance.

You can observe at Nest or attend with your own baby, where applicable. We’ll agree suitable sessions so this experience supports your learning.

This is an opportunity to notice the details: how a teacher welcomes people, explains a movement, responds to an unsettled baby and brings a group together.

4. Create your six-week block plan

You’ll submit a complete six-week plan, with approximately two hours allocated to planning.

I’ll want to see what you’re teaching, why you’ve chosen it and how the sessions develop across the block.

5. Submit your teaching and class information

You’ll record yourself teaching a sample class to willing participants with age-appropriate babies, with appropriate consent for filming and assessment.

You’ll also submit your proposed class description and promotional wording for review before certification.

The course includes approximately 19 hours of structured learning and observation, plus an optional one-hour mentoring call after certification. Allow additional time to prepare, record and submit your assessment work.

A certificate you work towards

You won’t receive your teaching certificate simply for attending the practical day.

Your Nest Baby Yoga Teacher Training certificate is awarded once you’ve completed the required learning and successfully met the assessment criteria.

You’ll need to demonstrate that you can:

  • Plan a full class and explain the purpose behind each part.

  • Support parents with warmth, respect and appropriate boundaries.

  • Deliver the baby yoga routine confidently, with clear instructions.

  • Offer appropriate assistance when parents need it.

  • Adapt your teaching to the babies and parents in the room.

  • Plan a coherent six-week block.

  • Describe and promote your classes accurately.

If something needs more practice or development, I’ll give you clear feedback on what to work on before reassessment.

Support as you begin teaching

Completing your assessment doesn’t mean the support ends.

You’ll receive lifetime access to the course videos and online learning materials, so you can return to them as you plan and teach.

You’ll also have an optional one-hour, one-to-one mentoring call with me, available within six months of receiving your certificate. Use it to talk through your plans, ask questions or reflect on your first classes.

What’s included?

  • Online course videos and training manual.

  • A full practical training day with Jenny Clark at Nest.

  • Five hours of class observation or attendance.

  • Review of your six-week block plan.

  • Assessment of your recorded sample class.

  • Feedback towards completing your certification.

You’ll need appropriate insurance for your own teaching. Please confirm with your chosen insurer that they will accept this training alongside your existing experience or qualifications.

The course teaches baby yoga class facilitation. It does not qualify you to diagnose developmental conditions or provide clinical treatment.
