From Pilates to Post-Brunch Glow — Your Winter Reset Starts Here

Updated: 19 hours ago

There’s something about November that makes us pause. The clocks have shifted, the light fades earlier, and everything seems to move just a little slower. We start layering jumpers, lighting candles, and craving warmth—not just in our bodies, but in our routines.

Embracing the Season

As we settle into this time of year, motivation can waver and energy dips. We might feel like we’ve lost our rhythm, too tired to push, yet too restless to fully rest. That’s where The Move Train Eat Winter Wake Up comes in. It’s a morning designed to gently bring you back to yourself through movement, nourishment, and connection.

Hosted by Mandy from Move Train Eat, this brand-new mini retreat is happening on Sunday 16th November. It’s all about one simple idea: you can feel both energised and grounded as you head into winter.

The Intention Behind the Event

Often, fitness and wellness spaces are filled with talk about “discipline” and “sticking to your routine.” But what if we softened that conversation? What if the goal wasn’t to force energy, but to find it again through care, not pressure?

That’s the heartbeat of the Winter Wake Up. It’s not a challenge or a test. It’s a morning to listen in, to move with curiosity, and to nourish yourself in ways that feel sustainable. Think of it as a mini reset button for your body and mind. Just a few hours that give you the space to breathe, stretch, eat well, and reconnect with what you need before the festive rush begins.

A Morning of Mindful Movement

Mindful Movement

The day begins with Mandy’s Signature Mat Pilates session. This class blends strength, mobility, and mindfulness in equal measure. Using a Pilates ball, circle, and optional light weights, you’ll move through a series of controlled, grounding exercises. These exercises strengthen your core, improve posture, and awaken your body from the inside out.

If you’ve never done Pilates before, don’t worry! It’s not about being flexible or fitting a mould. Mandy’s teaching focuses on alignment, breath, and awareness. You’ll be guided to find what feels good for you, with options to make each move gentler or more challenging depending on how your body feels that morning.

It’s the kind of movement that doesn’t just leave you feeling worked; it leaves you feeling reconnected.

From there, you’ll flow into a Mobility and Stretch session. This part targets those areas where tension loves to hide: the neck, shoulders, hips, and spine. Expect a calm, fluid practice that’s as much about releasing stress as it is about physical mobility.

More Than Movement

The second part of the morning is all about refuelling, both physically and emotionally. After class, you’ll gather for a seasonal post-workout brunch. This brunch will be freshly prepared and full of flavour. Expect nutritious yet comforting dishes, including exclusive tastings of new Move Train Eat recipes, paired with something warm to sip while you chat and unwind.

This isn’t a rushed post-class snack; it’s an invitation to slow down. To sit, eat, and enjoy the company of others who care about feeling well, not perfect.

Honest Conversations About Food & Winter Wellbeing

Nutrition Conversations

Between bites, Mandy will lead a relaxed nutrition conversation. She draws from her experience in supporting people to build balanced, sustainable relationships with food. As the weather cools, our bodies naturally crave comfort, richer meals, slower mornings, and a bit more stillness. But it’s also a season where we can feel sluggish, tired, or out of sync. Mandy’s aim is to help you understand that balance—how to nourish yourself in ways that feel good without restriction or guilt.

You’ll discuss:

  • Simple, practical nutrition tips for winter

  • How to maintain energy through shorter days

  • Hydration and gut health during colder months

  • The emotional side of eating, especially when life feels busy

What makes this part special is that it’s not a lecture. It’s a two-way conversation—a space where questions are encouraged, experiences are shared, and no topic is off-limits. It’s about learning from one another, not being told what to do.

Why a Morning Like This Matters

We spend so much of our lives rushing—from work to home, from one task to another—that even our self-care can start to feel like a checkbox. “Go to the gym.” “Eat clean.” “Get steps in.”

But mornings like this remind us that wellness can be simpler. It can be joyful, shared, and human.

The Winter Wake Up is for anyone who wants to:

  • Feel good in their body again

  • Reset their motivation in a kind, sustainable way

  • Enjoy movement and food without guilt

  • Meet new people who value the same things

You don’t need to be a “Pilates person” or a nutrition expert. You just need to be open to the idea that taking two and a half hours for yourself might actually change how the rest of your winter feels.

The Feeling You’ll Leave With

The hope is that when you leave, you’ll carry a little of that Sunday morning stillness with you. You’ll feel the warmth in your muscles, the calm in your mind, and the quiet satisfaction that comes from doing something good for yourself.

It’s not about transformation or huge goals. It’s about small, steady shifts—the kind that make you stand taller, breathe deeper, and feel more like yourself again. And of course, maybe a bit of that post-brunch glow that makes winter feel less grey and a little more golden.
