Dive into a world of rhythm, rhyme, and Highland magic. Nessie’s Notes is an interactive musical journey where children don’t just listen to music, they explore it, play it, and begin to understand how it’s made.
Named after Scotland’s most famous (and musical!) resident, this class gently introduces early music theory through imagination, storytelling, and playful discovery. It’s a natural next step for children ready to move beyond pure musical play into the building blocks of sound, rhythm, and melody.
What you’ll experience
• Rhythm and pulse exploration
Clapping, movement, and percussion games that build a strong sense of timing and coordination.
• Melody and pitch introduction
Early keyboard work and guided activities to help children recognise, match, and play simple melodies.
• Creative composition
“Story-scoring” adventures where children create music and sound effects for Nessie’s underwater world and beyond.
• Active listening skills
Learning to identify instruments, sounds, and musical textures from both orchestra and everyday life.
• Group music-making
Singing, playing, and creating together to build confidence, teamwork, and joyful self-expression.
